Claire gave my first opportunity to work in psychiatric nursing at Denver General on 4 east in the early 90s. She was a wonderful and very motherly manager who pulled together a wonderful team of diversely talented nurses. She had such a dry sense of humor and authentic compassion that totally fit given our patient population. I learned my best stuff from her! Nursing has benefited greatly from her presence.
